上海官员因腐朽被判无期 Shanghai Official Sentenced to Life for Corruption



康惠军的妻子王孝琴也因行贿被判5年徒刑。法庭说，康惠军同意土地出卖，辅助别人获取合同，作为回报，他获取现金。

上海一家法院以纳贿罪判处曾负责监管建设上海一个奢华贸易区的前上海官员无期徒刑。中国官方媒体说，上海这个法庭礼拜二将原上海浦东新区副区长判刑。康惠军被裁定有罪，接收了86万多美元的贿赂，并通过非法道路取得两倍于此的财产。



A Chinese court has handed a life sentence to a former Shanghai official convicted of taking bribes while he developed a major business district in the city. Chinese state media say the Shanghai court sentenced the former vice governor of the city's Pudong area, Kang Huijun, on Tuesday. He was found guilty of accepting 860-thousand dollars in bribes, and of acquiring twice that amount through illegal channels.
